Boarding Zone

At Aggie Pet Zone we strive to provide the finest well-rounded care for all of our guests. Every one of our staff members is a true animal lover at heart and takes great joy in caring for your pets while they are here. We collaborate with our pet owners to customize a program of care that will best suit each pet’s individual needs. We aim to maintain your pet’s level of attention and comfort that they are accustomed to having at home.

We begin by having you fill out a Personality Profile for each one of your pets. This helps our staff to get to know your pet like you do, thus enabling us to provide them a higher quality of care.

Our entire facility was designed with your pet’s comfort in mind. All of the boarding areas are climate-controlled with soothing music played continuously.

For Our Doggie Guests:

We have two wonderful options available for your dog. The first being a traditional style Run with a loafing bench in a common room where they can see and hear other dogs. Each common room has only 20 Runs per "dorm" with a separate room for our special needs and timid guests. The Runs are 4’x6’ or larger and are built to provide your dog with both safety and privacy. They are sanitized throughout the day to ensure that your pet enjoys a clean and healthy environment. The Rate for a Run is $28.50/night based on a check-in time of noon or later and a check-out time by noon on the day of departure.

The second option is one of our Doggie Suites. They are individual doggie bedrooms with raised furniture and a flat panel TV. Dog friendly movies are played throughout the day to provide your dog with visual and audio stimulation. The Suites provide a much more home-like environment. Our Suites are great for pampered pooches, but also provide the extra creature comforts that many nervous or senior pets need.  The rate for a suite is $41.50/night based on a check-in time of noon or later and a check-out time by noon on the day of departure.

All of our doggie guests are let out at least six times per day into one of our spacious fenced grass yards. Here they can run and play and get some much needed exercise. A member of our well-trained staff is always on hand to supervise and maintain the safety and security of each guest. If you like, we can match your dog with a compatible playmate during this time so they can run and play together. Our staff members are also on hand to throw the ball for any avid retrievers.

Proper nutrition is important to us here at Aggie Pet Zone. We want to continue your pet’s current feeding regimen to ensure a smooth transition to their stay here. We can do this with your food from home or with our high-quality holistic diet of Fromm Four Star at no extra charge.  If you prefer to provide your pets food from home, we ask that you bring it to us in pre-measured meal sized portions.

For multiple pet families we do allow pets to share a run or suite, however, these pets must be able to eat together as we may not always have space available to separate them for feeding.  Additional dogs may board in the same facility for half the regular rate.

Although our rates are based on a check-in time of noon or later, and a check-out time of noon or earlier, pets may be picked up or droped off any time during our regular reception hours are M-F 7-6:30 Sat 10-3pm and Sunday 8-9am & 4-6pm.  If your travel plans require that your pet is droped off before noon or stay after noon we can accomodate this need for only a half-day added charge.

For your convenience, we now offer an optional extended hours pick-up/drop-off option for only $15.  This option allows you to make an appointment with a receptionist any time during our normal animal care hours (Monday thru Sunday 6:30am - 10pm) so that we may be available for you outside our normal business hours.

No matter which option you choose for your dog's stay with us, you can be sure they will be having just as much fun on their vacation as you are!

For Our Kitty Guests:

Our Kitty Condos provide a very comfortable environment that your cat will truly enjoy taking a catnap in. They are spacious multi-level dens with a separated space for the litter box to ensure that your cat has a pleasant and sanitary place to lounge. In addition to spending time in their Condos, your cat will be let out for a period during the day to spend snooping around our entire Kitty Room, playing on our giant Cat Tower, or snoozing in the giant picture window overlooking our play yards and Dog Park.

Health Requirements for Boarding:

The staff and doctors at Aggie Pet Zone are dedicated to the emotional and physical well being of our guests. We have become increasingly aware of the health risks, and lack of benefits, associated with repeatedly vaccinating dogs for Distemper and Parvo virus after their initial "puppy shots" and their one year booster. The evidence implicating repeated vaccination in triggering immune-mediated and other chronic disorders is compelling; therefore we have modified our Distemper/Parvo booarding vaccination requirements as follows:

Distemper/Parvo Virus Vaccination - Three vaccinations in puppyhood at 6-8wks, 10-12 wks, and 14-16 wks followed by a booster vaccination at one year of age. Thereafter, we accept tri-annual titer testing as an alternative to pet owners who prefer not to follow the conventional practice of annual or tri-annual booster vaccines. Bordatella (kennel cough) Intra-Nasal Vaccination - Should be administered every 6 months for dogs because the duration of immunity is short lived for this common upper respiratory infection. The injectable Bordatella vaccine is not recommended because the intranasal vaccine confers superior mucosal immunity (mucosal IgA, interferon, etc.) without the potential problems associated with injectable vaccines.

Rabies Vaccination - (TX State Law minimum requirement) One vaccination for all pets between 12-16 weeks of age followed by a booster at 1 year. Additional boosters are required at least every 3 years thereafter for life (this interval may vary depending on the type of vaccine that your veterinarian used).

As always, for the protection of all guests, pets must be flea free. If any evidence of flea infestation is found on a pet, Capstar will be administered at the owner's expense.
